  • Ultimate Quik Wax on Black Ibiza (Pics)

    hi Guys

Had a chance to try my new Ultimate Quik Wax today on my girlfriend's black Ibiza.

First washed with a mix of Soft Wash Gel and Hyperwash
    (Claying wasnt required)
1 coat of Color X to help hide a few very minor swirls (i had removed most last week with #80)
I application of UQW. Very very pleased with the results, it rained shortly afterwards when i was on the motorway and the beading was superb, thoroughly recommend it.

Only negative was the bottle leaks if not held upright (all in the store did the same thing oddly maybe this is something that needs to be looked at apart from that great stuff guys)

Wow! nice! Only an application of a dedicated wax (ultimate wax?) will beat that shine.. Nice car too

What tire gel did you use? its not bad but my preference is having slightly less gloss from the tires. Just a bit less, but not too matte or satin. I haven't moved to the pricier dressings yet though. I plan to very soon.. My choices? hot shine, gold class (grape) tire dressing ond mothers reflections.. I don't want too buy them all in one go though

            Cheers FF

I actually used Megs Endurance on the tyres. I must admit i sometimes prefer less gloss, a wipe with an old MF seems to reduce the gloss a little, or something like 303 protectant is a little less glossy.

I actually like your seat leon (am i right?) better. hehehe.. I do like Seats, its sort of like VW and alfa romeo put together. And end up having a car with italian (or latino) style with german engineering. If those were my cars, I'd go towards the GOld Class Carnauba plus Wax, to really bring out the depth and richness of the red (and black) colors. However, the bright, glassy look typical of synthetic polymer wax/sealant is quite nice too.

Interesting.. about the GC Carnauba Plus, I haven’t tried it yet the local store and the Megs online store here is out of stock, but I am a lover of the glossy paint rather than the crisp sealant look. I have tried Deep Crystal Step 3 on both cars and this gives a really lovely gloss but I just cant get it to last more than a few days in a UK winter which is why I went for ColorX as that seems to last that little bit longer. My car is sat in the car park at work now and just looking out the window (it is lunchtime after all) the beading from the UQW over the ColorX is interesting, small but uniform beads.

Yes they are both SEATS the Red one is a LEON FR and the Black an IBIZA Sport. Your dead right about a mix of German and Italian. I love Alfas but they are never as good to drive as they are to look at. I have had the LEON 3 years with no issues at all.

Someone described the LEON as a Golf in a pair of running shoes and they are about right.

your car inspired me to do a bit of exteriVor detailing.. I have couple of not so good photos but the results are basically excellent. Used Ultimate compound, then glazed it, then NXT 2.0
I regularly UQ-detail it. And yes, Ultimate quik wax too! as for the e39 i posted? i waxed it 2wks ago, regularly maintained it with UQD. It rained alot a couple of days ago, i washed, UQD and UQW the car. So the pics you may see of it is a car thats just been "revitalized and boosted" with the ultimates. I love it!
