My take on this thread:

1. Find what you like and use it often, agree 100%.
2. In SC, I only find NXT car wash at Pep Boys.
3. If you like suds, Deep Crystals and Hyperwash are the way to go.
4. Gold Class is the only one of these that is a car shampoo. That's why its finish is so much more satisfying....giving your paint a nice rich look.

I tried NXT car wash last weekend. It worked just fine. At least I think it did. Gold Class works just fine, too. Ditto for Turtle Ice Shampoo. I guess I just don't have sufficient experience with car shampoos. I guess I need to find a bad car wash solution and then compare.

I like the gold class, I like NXT, heck I like Blue Corral. As long as it suds up nicely and does not dry to quick, it is fine by me.

I live in northern California I found it at Lowes. Lol yes in a home improvement store who would of guessed? It was in the cleaning supplies aisle. They had the nxt tech wax 2.0 packaged with the nxt wash for $13.98! Only other place I have seen it was at Napa auto parts. This place is higher on prices but if you would like to get it OTC, you may be able to.

Thanks for the info . I'll be on the lookout for NXT wash if I ever come across a Lowe's or a Napa Auto (none where I live).
I'll continue getting it from ADS online in the meantime .

I also didn't realize that NXT Wash was OTC; it doesn't exist in stores in Northern California.

Anyway, I haven't tried NXT, but I wouldn't either, considering that the Gold Class Wash is by far my favorite product. For washes before a full out detail, after claying, and between compounding and polishing, I use the Deep Crystal Wash.

But after a full detail with glazes, sealants, and pure waxes, I use Gold Class to preserve my hard work.

That is interesting because I find that NXT Wash gives me the better suds, better lubricity, better cleaning power, and better smell compared to Gold Class Wash.

Yep....

I love NXT during the winter months as FOR ME it's slicker during the cinders on the roads and general nastiness from winter in a rural area.

I like GC anytime, slippery and leaves a nice finish....

Did you buy them at the same store? could be bad.....

Although I wouldn't put NXT or GC in a foam gun. I would use the Detailer line stuff.

Not sure I would like ONR in my rural area.

But....find what you like and use it often!

Well you know what shampooing your hair is like, right? Lots 'o suds .

But have you ever tried conditioner? It has no suds and it's difficult to tell where you're working or where the product has gone, and doesn't provide that visual/tangible joy of having suds to work with.

I have used Gold Class and Turtle Ice and have been happy with both. I like the rich thickness of GC: it feels like it should be doing good things for the paint. Heck if I know, though, if any shampoo can really condition or benefit car paint.

I haven't tried NXT yet. I just recently got a small bottle and will probably be using it the next time I wash one of my cars. I know that a lot of folks love it. I also have a small bottle of Duragloss, which I intend to try sometime in the near or far future.

I honestly don't know how to judge a car shampoo. Clearly it needs to clean well, yet it can't be so strong that it removes the wax. Suds is irrelevant to me, as I know that suds has nothing to do with a shampoo's cleaning power; but I imagine it would be relevant if I were using a foam cannon. I suppose it would be nice if a shampoo were to leave a touch of gloss behind, but that is probably not very important to me either, as I often use a quick detailer either as a drying aid or immediately after washing. On the other hand, I do not want a shampoo to make the paint look worse than it would otherwise. I don't think that anyone has accused NXT of doing that. I guess I'll just have to try NXT and see what I think.

However, because I'm concerned about water restrictions, I am switching to Optimum No-Rinse as well. I have high hopes for it and hope that it is just as friendly as normal washing, cheaper, and faster, too. ONR-ing will take the bulk of my washes, like routine washes of my own vehicle(s). However, when it comes to customer cars or any time I am polishing or detailing, I always turn to NXT .

Oh, I forgot to add that I love the fact that NXT counters my hard water-spotting, due to the water softeners in NXT Wash.

NXT car wash isn't my favorite, but I'm surprised you don't really care for Gold Class car wash. Oh well. To each his own, I guess.
