  • Well, I love to dress my tires

Lately I have been playing around with different Meguiars tire dressings on my new BFG All Terrains. After washing my truck tonight I decided to randomly try Hot Shine High Gloss Tire Coating (Aerosol)

I have all the following and plan on trying all of them eventually:

Hot Shine High Gloss Tire Coating (Aerosol)
    Hot Shine Tire Foam
Hot Shine High Gloss Tire Gel
Hot Shine High Gloss Tire Spray
    Gold Class Endurance High Gloss
NXT Generation Insane Shine Tire Coating
NXT Generation Insane Shine Tire Spray
    #40 - Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner
    All Season Dressing
    Hyper-Dressing

So, first up is Hot Shine High Gloss Tire Coating (Aerosol):

Eventually I will get to them all, it might take a couple months though.

    Looks good!

You should have your tire place put the balance weights on the inside of the wheel..looks much cleaner.

Looks good, I've been using that stuff, but decided to try another brand that was on sale.... ....which isnt too bad.

X2 on what Ryan said, most tire places have the stick on weights that simply glue onto the inside of the wheel to keep ur wheel surface clean and smooth.

        Thanks guys.

Yeah, probably would look a little cleaner on the inside and not on the outside.

Looks great! How many miles are on those tires? They look pretty new.
Does it hurt the traction of the tires if you spray the treads?

Look forward to seeing the results of the other sprays.

Yea and plus over time they start to leave imprints in the wheel and they don't look good.

They are only a month old, I love them. They are much better than the ones that came with it from the factory.

Plus they look extremly nice when dressed

You're tire looks great! I love BFG's. I had the all terrain on my previous truck and they lasted a long time. I have about 47,000 miles on my BFG Mud Terrain tires and still have some tread left. I better start saving up for the replacements.

                  Nick,

Can I make a suggestion? How about run a little "tire shine tournament". You have 10 products, so eliminate 2 and run a 8 product tournament.

                  Here's what I recommend.

Put one product on each tire and rate each after one week in specific categories.

                  Shine

                  Durability

                  Ease of application

                  Lack of sling

Top grade gets a five, bottom gets a one. After the first week, you'll have a top product. Then do it over again with the remaining four.

After a week you'll have a new winner and then put them up head to head and see which product is the overall tire champ!

                    Good idea, I like it.

In the near future I will put something together. Sounds like fun already.

+1 on the wheel weights on the inside - on my Explorer the weights chipped the clear coat.

+1 on the endurance test/tournament as well

Hot Shine High Gloss Tire Coating Aerosol is my new favorite especially on the all terrain tires that have an aggressive tread pattern. Spray on and wipe off excess with nothing on the ground or rim.

                            Looks Nice.

I think Gel is the way to go unless the Tire Walls are not smooth than I use Aerosol.

I notice how new tires hold/absorb Tire shine much better than old ones...

I used to have BFG's on my GMC savanna, But we switched to Kelly Safari's... I am really loving those.

As you are thinking about how to put together your tire dressing tournament, you may find this tire dressing test helpful. I thought the poster did a really good job.
