I read through the forums and how to sections last night to prepare for my first detail job on our 2002 Ford Escape, Black and it was in bad shape. Went to my local Pep Boys early this morning, loaded up with all the goods and started the work around 11:30 a.m. Washed, dried, and then backed the Escape into the garage so I could start the clay process. Good Grief! I was astonished at what was adhering to the clay! Some time ago, I drove past a paint truck that was spaying the yellow lines on the road. I discovered that the entire vehicle had fine droplets of yellow paint. The clay worked like magic The black paint became smooth as glass and looked spectaluar! I used the clay on the windows too and they came clean. Used some of the Scratch-X to remove bird dropping stains and scratches. Out they came. Waxed using the Cleaner Wax and when I was done, the Escape looked brand new.
Many thanks to the forum posters and the Meguiar's company. I learned alot reading the website last night and I am extremely pleased with the results. I look forward to doing my 2001 F-150 Super Crew next weekend!
