  • Swirl X question

    Hello everyone,

    I have a question regarding Swirl X.

This is the newest product for 2009 i am most anxious to give a try, i will probably recieve it this weekend, so its just a matter of time.

On to my question, How should i work Swirl X in by hand? should i use passion behind the pad? Is Swirl X more ideal for using on the whole car one panel at a time than Scratch X 2.0? i was shocked to see SwirlX is more aggressive than M83 and all things being equal and both M83 and SwirlX were both used by hand, would SwirlX still be more aggressive than M83 when used by hand?

i know i am throwing a lot of questions out there but i just needed some more info so i could plan out my detail and product choice

    Thanks again

    Re: Swirl X question

    Hi:

I just got Swirl X and have been playing around with it by hand. I have not used it with a DA.

For me it has worked great by hand, better than any other product I have used. The clarity of the paint after using this product is off the chart. I am using Swirl X to polish areas of my vehicle that I can not get to with a DA.

How you work it all depends on your paint. Again, for me it took no were near the passion I would have used with other products by hand. Comparing this product to 83 by hand is not a good idea since 83 is not recommended for use by hand. If you compare Swirl X to products that can be used by hand like Scratch X (original) and 80 it is much more aggressive.

I would suggest cleaning an area in your door jam and use Swirl X by hand to get a feel for it before working on the panels. The aggressiveness of this product by hand certainly surprised me.

You don't have to work SwirlX as hard or use as many applications to get better results faster than ScratchX 1.0

Find a finish in bad condition, maybe a friend or relatives car that isn't take care of and test it out on neglected paint first so you can easily see the difference between before and after. It's easier to see the difference between before and after and the gauge how you applied it as compared to old ScratchX then it is on a finish in good to excellent condition like the pictures of your truck show it to be in.

          Re: Swirl X question

I used SwirlX this past weekend. I used a cyclo with a green light polishing pad and even experimented with a light compound (orange) pad. I think you will be impressed with its long work time and corrective abilities.
