    Re: Reviewed: Ultimate Quik Wax

    Thanks to ALL Mikes.

Mshu, hopefully you can find something good in me and my threads. I honestly just try to help even though I'm not perfect and have, like others, messed up along the way.

    Ok back to detailing.

I'm hoping to see some of this "relentless beading" this weekend since rain is in the forecast. I'll keep you posted. Members please feel free to post your experiences with UQW here in my thread.

      Re: Reviewed: Ultimate Quik Wax

I often do not post "reviews" or products that I do not like because I do not like being negative, and it isn't in my nature. I can't speak for Justin, but it might be that he simply sticks to posting positive stuff.

Either way, let's forget the petty bantering and stick on the topic- UQW.

I appreciate your review Justin, as I have yet to receive my shipment of UQW and I am now greatly looking forward to giving it a shot over my rather thorough M205-->M20, M21 2.0, M16, M26 base coat

That is one heckuva protective layer there!

Today I used UQW on the interior of a '09 Denalli. I used in on the wood grain and instrument cluster. Looked really deep and wet. I didn't use it on the rubber or vinyl. We will see how it does with the dust though.

I just checked my local Wal-Mart today. The new product line still has not made it here yet, UQX,SwirlX, UC are on my short list. Hopefully, some other members can post their findings first. Thank you for the review, Justin.

Honestly Justin, all of your reviews over the years on AG, Autopia, MOL, etc. have the same basic premise: "I tested Product X and it works great so go buy it!" I can't think of a time that you've ever reviewed a product that wasn't a "great product".

I remember you saying a while back that you were ditching all your boutique products to go all Meg's, which is fine, until you do a review like this, on MOL. This review makes me think you're just sucking up to Meg's/MOL and that's what you've been doing over the years with all your other reviews on the other forums. Then throw in your run-ins on the other forums and your recent website plagiarism issue, and it's even harder to take you seriously.

The same can be said about for the vast majority of it's competitors, namely the two you mentioned, OCW & AquaWax, which I have also used.

I've never had or heard of users having streaking issues with OCW or AquaWax so again, no different here.

OCW & AquaWax are both quite slick, so again, no different here.

Is it really or is it just more of what I'm talking about? I seem to remember you having a thing for Souveran Spray Wax, so is this that much better???

vs. your post regarding LSP's from another thread:

So you can tell that UQW darkened after two hours but you can't see any difference between the 5 different non-Meg's waxes that were being discussed in another thread?

Again, I'm sure UQW is a fine product, but your reviews mean nothing when all your reviews are the same. It's kind of like the kid that cried wolf...

To me, the biggest benefit of UQW is that it's a consumer-level product that will be easy to find locally. Obviously, OCW has to be purchased online and Duragloss products aren't as easy to find as Meguiar's products locally.

Please keep this thread on track. There will be no wax wars.

Thanks go out to all the mods here once again. They are one of the main reasons this place does so well.

I'm doing two full details tomorrow and I will be using Swirl-X and Ultimate Compound for a comparison against #105 and #205.

Ultimate Quik Wax is a great maintenence tool for a vechile that has a good base coat of wax on it and what i love about it is that it has Hydrophobic Polymer Technology, this is really good because it compliments my Tech Wax 2.0.

This is a great product thats in the new 2009 lineup

I'm very jealous of your truck, that made we want to say very nasty things to you in this thread, but I found the thread very informative and useful. However, I am reserving my right to say something nasty in the future, unless I can borrow your truck for the rest of the winter months in Canada?

Tried it this morning and this stuff is excellent waxed my Malibu just last weekend with NXT 2.0, the UQW goes on really smooth, did the whole car and came back and buffed it out with a MF.

                          Re: Reviewed: Ultimate Quik Wax

I used UQW on Friday afternoon my c class. It had been waxed a week or so into January with hi tech yellow wax.

I think maybe I didn't use enough UQW as the finish didn't turn out that amazing, to my touch, but it did look pretty good.

I also was having a problem as UQW smells so good I had 3 bees bugging me the entire time.

I think UQW is loved by more than just humans!

I think the truck is a big plus to selling his services. The yellow is an attention getter. It sure beats some beat up van's and pickups I have seen a few mobile detailers use that cannot project the best image. One assume it is reflected in the price.

This helps break the myth that detailing may be more than just the neighborhood kid making a little extra money doing odd chores such as car washing.
