  • Super Suede Towel

After hearing some good reviews on using a water magnet and following with a super suede, i decided to give the super suede towel a try. I normally use 2 WMs, and that works great.

I followed the directions and damped the super suede prior to using it. I was skeptical at this method. So i tried drying but all it did was streak the water everywhere!

Am i doing something wrong here? Should i give it a few more uses to see if it works better? Or should i just stick to using 2 WMs?

    Thanks....

    Re: Super Suede Towel

It’s the other way around. You remove the bulk of the water with the SSDT first and then follow up with a water magnet to remove any tiny droplets left behind.

If you wet the SSDT before using it be sure to squeeze out as much water as possible. Then keep squeezing it out as when it loads up.

Unlike natural chamois and PVA synthetic types (The Absorber and such), I’ve never felt the need to pre-moisten the SSDT. It’s soft from the get-go although it does absorb slightly more slowly for the first few seconds of use when you start completely dry.

The SSDT will leave tiny droplets if you just blot with it. It does need some wiping action to "squeegee" the water off completely. You don’t need to rub with it, just a delicate wipe (it’s not like you need to rub, scrub, polish or buff water off the surface).

I mainly use the SSDT if I have a big vehicle to dry and it should really be the ticket if you’re drying multiple vehicles at a time. You just squeeze it out and keep going. Water Magnets (or any towel) will saturate. That’s not a big deal if you have enough towels on hand for however many cars you’re doing.

      Edit: What in the world!?!

Edit Again!: Trying to quote PC, I guess I won't, anyway... I use the Super Suede towel then the Water Magnet. Works very well for me.

Sometimes, and we're not sure why, but your text gets lost when replying to a thread?

It has happened to me a whole bunch of times. The lesson learned is to always copy, paste and save any post you're typing that's important and/or long in case this happens so you don't have to retype all your words, it also helps to click on the Preview Post and look to see if your message is going to post okay

You don't have to pre-wet the Super Suede Drying towel, now called the Soft Touch Microfiber Drying Cloth, before using. Just use dry until it becomes wet then wring it out so that most of the water is out of it. If you dry your car first with the our Water Magnet Microfiber waffle weave drying towel, there shouldn't be enough water on the car at this point to actually get a Soft Touch Microfiber Drying Cloth wet.

Only happens occasionaly to me, but it's a hassle when it does happen.

For me it’s all of the time. Also happens with pm’s.

Not for me. I’ll type some long-winded (aren’t mine always?) dissertation and it will always preview perfectly. Then I post it and only the first couple words show up.

Going back, editing and saving almost always works. But I’ve had a couple that wouldn’t post completely no matter what.

Me too. I've found that prior to hitting post I select the entire reply and copy it to the clipboard. After I post and I find a problem I just hit edit and paste the whole thing back in and click save. This works most of the time.
