Worrying about the new clay kit

I just checked out the price of the new clay kit.

Let's do a comparison :

Quik Clay
US : 10$
Canada : 25$

Smooth surface :
US : 17$
Canada (calculated guess) : 40$

Sure there is more stuff in the box, but I chose the Quik Clay simply because it was a bit cheaper than Mothers which is 27 $ here.

I just wish Quik Clay will still be available, else I'll have to turn the the competition for my clay due to economical reasons.

Skuz... one thing I notice, I was looking for clay over Christmas and only found Mothers brand it was $17 USD (same as Meguiars new clay). I was surprised by the high price but the kit contained a clay bar, detailer and a 4oz bottle of cleaner wax, seems the clay kits are moving in that direction for one reason or another(adding items to the kit in turn slightly raising the price). The good thing about Meguiars, they offer a better package by including a awesome microfiber in addition to the clay bar, detailer and cleaner wax.

I agree the package may be worth the price.

But if like many enthusiasts you already have most of the stuff you need, paying an extra for a wax and a MF seems overkill.

I have nothing against the new product itself, for a beginner who doesn't already have many products/equipment it is excellent I am sure. I just wouldn't want to see the small kit (quik clay) disappear. It has all I need : clay + lubricant.

As you could read, in Canada there is a difference of only 2$ between quik clay and the Mothers kit which include a cleaner wax sample. Since I don't need the cleaner wax, I went to the basics with Meguiars.

If Quik Clay is discontinued, the basic kit around here will become Mothers. If my price calculation is right, Smooth Surface will sell for 40$ or more, while Mothers will stay at 27$. I'll just have a bunch of cleaner wax I'll give to relatives or friends.

From what I've heard, the new Clay System won't be shipping into Canad for some time. Until it does, the current Quik Clay System will still be available.

At work we wash our cars with acid it makes the car more smooth and it gets rid of fall out.no need for clay bar only problem u cant use the hand mitt with acid

yeah its yellow and stinger supples it for us in a 55 gal drum. first we wet the car and do a feel test if its smooth we just use soap. now if its ruff or has fall out on it then we use acid it also gets out hard water spots on windows but u cant let it dry on the car

so thats 45 but i think your getting less clay with the quik clay and as a bonus you get cleaner wax so its really good at 40 im afraid it will be more than 40

Meguiar's Canada will gouge again. That's why I'll cross the border and buy mine in NY. That's how I got all my NXT stuff!
