  • new paint job...now what?

I just bought this '98 bmw 318ti. It has been painted from the front end. But, I don't think they buffed it or did anything after the paint job. What should I do to preserve the paint and keep it from fading and deteriorating? Any sugestions?

Is the paint in good shape overall, or lots of swirls, etc that need fixed?

The best start is just withthe 5-step system:

    Meguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle

    Step 1 Wash

    Step 2 Clean

    Step 3 Polish

    Step 4 Protect

    Step 5 Maintain

Geo Sant- If the repaint is less than 2 months old, don't use a sealant or wax on it yet. It'll keep curing/outgassing for about a month or two (I wait three to be on the safe side) even if it was baked. In the meantime, use pure polishes such as #3/#5/#7/#81/Deep Crystal #2. If it has any marring you can use #80, which has both mild abrasives and ingredients to protect fresh paint.
