    Hi there I'm new here.

Currently reside in Cape Town, South Africa.

Recently bought me a white polo 1.2 tsi and needed some tips regarding weekly washing.

    1. Which shampoo is best for washing
    2. Which wax or polish should I use and how frequently must it be done.
    3. Any other products that I should also get

    Thanks
    Nathan

    Welcome from Ohio / USA.

"Best" is a subjective term. What I think is best may not be best for everyone else. I am partial to Gold Class wash and I want to try Ultimate Wash and Wax.

I have had excellent results with all of the exterior Ultimate line of products (compound/polish/wax) and recommend them highly, for you, Meg's "white wax" might be a good option, it has enough SMAT abrasives in it to be an excellent cleaner/polish, but it also has synthetic polymers for paint protection, I would then top that with one of the Ultimate waxes. You should only need to compound or polish when there are defects in the paint such as swirls, scratches or holograms. You can wax as often as you like, I've been know to wax my car twice a week, not out of necessity, but because it's something I like doing.

I would also suggest getting some Ultimate Quik Detailer and Ultimate Quik Wax. These products are mainly used between waxings to maintain the "Just Waxed" look, the Quik Detailer can also be used as a drying aid. Some have had some success using the Quik Wax as a drying aid also.

Lastly, but definitely not least, if you don't have one, get a Porter Cable-style polisher. It will make life much easier and give you results you can't touch by hand.
