My name is Austin, im 19 years old and just recently got into cars after purchasing my 1998 Honda Prelude and having to search long and hard to find answers to the questions i had. whats that? you dont know what a "PRELUDE" is??? No problamo! lots of people aren't fortunate enough to have seen a beauty, such as mine. Honda preludes have been around for a while. From the 1ts gen to the 5th. They have been known for their excellent handling on wet or dry roads, the sporty look it held, and the descent price at the pump.
Despite all of its glory, preludes do have some problems. In the year and a half that I've owned my lude, which was my first car by the way, i have ran into some minor set backs. honda preludes are know for their timming belts skipping time, and if that happens theres a good chance for damage to the head valves, which requires a head job, AKA 3k GONE. Most lude drivers( excluding myself ) know its a good idea to change your timming belt every 60-80 thousand miles($20) to prevent this. one other problem is that this car can only take premium gas at the pump, yeah its a picky b****. The unleaded amount HAS to be over [91], but taking in consideration this and its great gas mileage, it kinda equals itself out.
Anywho i suppose im required to ask a question for this to be legit. i wash and wax my car profusely. but after a huge storm we have a couple weeks ago i got stageII water spots AKA hard water spots from dirty water in the rain. and its taking some damage to the hood, top, and trunk roof. does anyone have experience with this? im still waking and cleaning the car to prevent it getting worse, but it seems futile when the car still looks trashy. I need to know what i could do to get it out if its even possible. if theres no hope... im just going to plastic dip over the hood, roof, and trunk roof. atleast then it will look like its just my secondary color.
Any help would be appreciated, and thank you for taking time to read over what i had to say! DRIVE SAFE!
