  • Dave's not here

Well, it did take about 36hrs to get my account validated. But....glad to be here. I'll have some questions regarding how to get clear coat overspray off of clear plastic, vinyl dashboards, and leather seats shortly.

First welcome to MOL! I never had that happen to me before. I know you can use a clay bar to remove over spray from painted surfaces. Maybe it can work on those surfaces too.

        to MOL david

Well it's winter time, kindly slow and Michael Stoops is pretty busy right now working behind the scene's on new products and write-ups and video's for us to learn from plus the fact that sometimes he's off on a special interest/rare classic car that he's got to go and polish out or at special events that we all could only hope to attend some day but when he's has a free moment (In his line of work is like winning the lottery) he does get on here and approve members and answer questions and post up all the article's and post up the cool new things and happenings at Meguiars! So that's what's great with MOL all the forum members help each other with problems and answer question

You can clay anything thing that is flat and smooth surface(Glass, Chrome, rims, aluminum ect) Now for the vinyl textured dash, and leather seat's. Can you see it or just feel? Can you take any pics?

Asking these questions because the more info you can give the better one of the great members on here can help answer it because they have already dealt and fixed/removed the problem.

But remember anything you try always start with the least aggressive product first because if it's not working you can always apply a 2nd application or apply more pressure and different material being used or applied or switch to a step up to the next level of agressivness.

Give these article a read if haven't already.

          Re: Dave's not here

Welcome to MOL, Dave. Please accept our apologies for the delay in getting your account approved. What most don't know is that we've been under a massive barrage of spam registrations so we are forced to manually approve all new accounts. This started around Thanksgiving weekend, which is kind of normal actually, but this year it hasn't let up at all. In fact, it's gotten worse. We've had as many as 120 new sign ups that were all spammers in a single day, and that's a lot of info to sort through. The good news is, we haven't had any of these slime balls get through and complete registration, which means we haven't had an issue with spam posts on the forum. Imagine what this, or any other forum, would look like if 125 spammers signed up overnight, and then each managed to make 5 new spam posts. We wouldn't blame anyone for being upset if they logged in one morning and found 600+ spam posts clogging the forum, so we're working diligently to nip that activity in the bud, and so far it's been working pretty well. We are looking into ways to automate the process without being overly aggressive and deleting/banning legitimate accounts.

I can't speak for anyone else, but as a computer geek personally and professionally, I LOVE to hear that MOL is being proactive about that kind of stuff. Keep up the good work Mike!
