    Re: m6601 quick detailer wax

Most new paint requires 90 days without a wax or sealant for the paint to properly offgas. Whomever painted it can tell you their recommendation.

You CAN put a PURE POLISH on it (i.e. Megs M7, etc.) during that cure time. It does not protect the paint like a wax or sealant, but that's just the way it is.

M66 is a cleaner wax, you don't want to apply that during the req'd cure time.

Define "new paint". We often hear people mention new paint when talking about a brand new car. In that case, M66 or any other wax/sealant/coating is perfectly fine to use as soon as you bring the car home - in fact, it's recommended. But if you're talking about a respray at a body shop/collision repair center then you should let that paint outgas and cure for 60-90 days unless told otherwise by the shop that painted it.

The reason for this discrepancy is that the paint systems used by the OEMs and body shops are vastly different from a chemistry standpoint. The OEM paint is baked at very high temperature for a fairly long period of time while body shop paint isn't. Yes, they often have an "oven" of sorts to help cure the paint to a point, but the temperature isn't as high and the curing process is a bit different.
