Hi! I am new to this forum, and my current project is my 31ft 5th wheel. The next project will be my car that is in need of a shine. I have several Meguiar's products that I have been using manually, much to the complaining of my shoulder and arms, and have decided to pick up the dual action polisher to save both time and pain ... that's one big trailer when polishing by hand! I am not sure how many on this forum use the meguiar's products for RV's but I do have some questions regarding the decals. Decals on an RV are big, long, and swirly, so not able to tape them off. I think they are vinyl, but can't confirm that - right now I am trying to avoid going over them with the M50, but not sure what product to use on them directly as they are looking rather dull. I also am looking for feedback on what product is the best for the gelcoat finish on my RV. I have been using M49 as an oxidation remover (it really needs some TLC), and wondering if I should use the M50 to follow, or right into a wax? Any suggestions? Thanks, and I look forward to any suggestions! Susan

Hi susan;
have you considered different brands other than Megs? the products you have should be good, but if your looking for different, Duragloss and Aquabuff are excellent gelcoat/rv/marine polishes too.
after all polishes, id also highly recommend a sealant or coating to prevent the frequency of a full trailer detail!

Re: Hi from Calgary Canada - Looking for help with my RV
Hi, I did end up buying a DA polisher. I was fortunate to find one on sale at Canadian Tire. The manual work I did last weekend did not compare to the work I did today with the DA polisher. What a difference! I used the oxidation remover, followed by the Boat/RV polish. I found that the polish actually dulled the shine I acquired with the oxidation remover. I then followed up with the cleaner wax and brought out a nice shine. I will pick up some Flagship Wax to complete the job, but that might be a while before I get the rest done. It sure is a big job. I found that the product does not seem to spread very much with the polisher and I am not getting an even sheen, but I am new to using the hand help polisher, so perhaps I am using too light pressure, or not even. I am only 5' tall, so a lot of the work is with arms up trying to hold the polisher even on the surface, and its got some weight to it! The lower half of the trailer looks really good though (the part that is not above arm level, ha ha!). I am going to be doing this in parts because there is a lot of surface area to cover. I did look into getting a sealant but mixed reviews on RV forums that they are just not all that pleased with the results. Its a gelcoat, so I am hoping that the flagship wax will give it some life. Maybe once this is done, I can actually get to detailing my car, and the truck ... and it never ends, does it?

Hi groundskeeper willie; I have tried some duragloss with mixed results. I still have it as a back up and might try it on the DA polisher, as I've only used it by hand previously. Thanks for the suggestion!
