  • Hello from Trinidad

Hi there. New owner of midnight black john cooper works Mini Cooper hatch. Bought my first set of meguiars products meguiars ultimate wash and wax polish and liquid wax and spray wax. I also have clay bar kit clarity glass cleaner and gold class carnuba wax plus. I did a mini detail on Saturday. Didn't clay bc the car was clayed 6 weeks ago and paint still felt very smooth. I did one coat of ultimate liquid wax after ultimate polish bc rain came down in bucket loads after. Let me tell you. I am so shocked at how good ulw looks. I bought the gclw to top the ulw and I am wondering even it is even needed. The reflectivity on the ulw is pretty mean and the durability is a must for me as my car parks outside in a rainy tropical climate. My question is and I have been lurking on this forum for sometime and seen many responses. Can I add another Coat of either the ulw or the gclw in about two weeks without doing the full detail? Or can I do both? Ulw came off easy. Read all the online reviews and how critical it was to do a thin coat. I also used the mike Phillips straight line application method of application. Love these products.

Welcome to Meguiar's Online. We are happy to hear you are having such great results. A second coat of wax can be applied. It will not necessarily double up on protection but it does ensure you have even coverage. When using a synthetic wax such as our Ultimate Liquid Wax, a second coat would be best applied a full 12 hours apart from the first. This will ensure the first coat is fully cured.

It has rained incessantly since my first detail and I cannot believe how well this wax is holding up ESP as it didn't even have one minute to cure. Also when I had ,y first detail done the detailer used black wax as a finishing product and clearly it removed the previously applied sealant and doesn't last as long as this wax.

Sure you can, no problems at all.

If you don't have much time, and you just want to "top up" your wax, try UQW. It's designed for top ups in between full wax jobs, and being a spray wax, it's very quick (as it's name would suggest!)

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
