GM got it right with the C5 styling, however ...
the C6 is a sad attempt at cosmetic refinement.

    Welcome to the board.

There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum geared specifically to Meguiar's products.

You'll even find some info on other major brands of products too.

Thanks Scrub! BTW, can you direct me to the best place on this forum to inquire about cleaning painted hoodliners? My hoodliner has a custom painted C5 logo. I would like to know how to clean off the dust. Using a cotton rag is out of the question d/t the hoodliner picks up lint fuzz like a magnet.

      TIA

        Hi 01MagRedC5

        Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

If your hoodliner is painted, then treat it like paint, that is use a quick detailer and microfiber polishing cloth to remove light dust. Afterwards polish and/or wax it to bring out the full beauty of the paint.

        Picture?

            Mike,

I appreciate the suggestion, however your method is a "no go". I don't think your familiar with my particular C5 custom painted hoodliner by PaulaH

Is that the normal hodliner type material?

Nope, any lint that is on the duster will be transferred onto the hoodliner in the form of tiny little lint balls.

Not yet... its my daily driver and I plan on keeping it as a "fun car" and buying something a little more practical for a daily driver in the future. Thats when I would like to do some performance upgrades. I want to do something with the suspension (Roush Suspension Kit) then on from there.

An excellent idea! For the first year, the Vette was my daily driver and put way too many miles on her, fun though.

Now, my wife & I both use a 2004 Honda Civic LX for a daily driver, and the Vette is my weekend warrior, whereas she has her S2000.

Wow my friend that's a toughy... I don't recall this topic on the forum yet.

Just throwing ideas out there, shoot'em down as necessary.

                            You could try...

Vacuum with the round brush attachment and gently vacuum the hoodliner.

you might could try a lint rolller.

Swiffer duster or something with a static charge to pull the dust rather than push the dust around.

I'll get back to this one. Real good question though.

What does the painter recommend for cleaning?

Yes, I've used the vacuum method, and works fairly well. Then, I follow with some light spraying of 303 Aerospace Protectant to hide the remaining dust residue on the hoodliner. However, I have not been able to find a suitable cloth that will not leave lint behind on the hoodliner. Besides, this vacuum method is a very slow process with only limited satisfactory results.

PaulaH, the painter, suggested I remove the hoodliner from the hood, then spray it down with water using light pressure. I have not tried that particular method d/t I don't want to go thru the trouble of removing/re-installing the hoodliner everytime I want to clean it.

My Vette is not a daily driver, yet a lot of road construction going on all over my local area.
