    Good Afternoon Everyone,

    I'm new to this website, and have a good question I think? I have a 1976 Classic Trillium Fiberglass camper. (Same as a Boler) I had it completely sanded down, primed and painted with a beautiful automotive paint...2 coats.
    My question is: how long should I let this new paint harden, before I apply the "Meguiar's Boat/RV Polish? 2 weeks? 4 weeks? or 6 weeks?

    Thanks to anyone who knows the right answer for this question.....

    Sincerely;

    Don Thompson

    Would need to know more about your paint you used, but the typical recommendation is 4 weeks.

      Don,

      Standard recommendation for fresh paint is waiting 60-90 days before applying a wax. It is also best to check with the painter for their advice on when to use certain products. In the meantime, you can keep the trailer clean by using a regular car wash soap with no wax. (Our only car wash soap which does have wax is our Ultimate Wash & Wax, so this soap you would not want to use.)

      During this curing time you can maintain the fresh paint by using a product like our #M07 Show Car Glaze, which is pure oils and nutrients. You can generally apply a polish like #7 Show Car Glaze at the earliest of a few days after painting.

      Our Marine/RV Line #45 High Gloss Polish is similar in characteristics to our #7 Show Car Glaze, but since you are working with automotive paint, you can stay in our automotive line as our Marine/RV line is more for gel coat/fiberglass boats or trailers.

      Also, be sure to take the time to get some good quality washing accessories and techniques down, as modern clear coat paints are delicate to this step and using old shop terry cloth towels etc, can unfortunately create swirl marks. These techniques and accessories can be highlighted in the following below links:
