  • Yukon Detail Black

Hey guys and girls was wondering in anyone had any info on problems with detailing any black yukon's. I have done 2 in the past few months and have had disappointing results. The truck had great depth a lot of correction as far as scrathing, spidering and defects it looked good. However when blown up in the sun you could see like scratches you could not feel in clear coat as well as some weird almost like little clouds of haze. Also when you took your finger and ran it on paint it would smear like the paint had a film very weird?? Now I can tell you it was not swirls left or anything like that I know all to well what they look like and how to deal with them this is not my first rodeo!!! I have to be honest never seen anything like it and to have the same thing happen on 2 different black yukons weird. One was a 2003 and the other 2007 I believe. I don't believe they were repaints but could be wrong on the 2003. The trucks were clayed, polished with m105, and m205 waxed with meguiars carnuba. I mean the paint surface couldn't be any smoother. Have always had great results with these products on black paint yukon black not so much!!! Maybe there is a different process I am not aware of.

If you see scratches in the sun, then you didn't remove them all. Try going over the scratches with 205 again, and if that doesn't do it, then try 105.
I think that the clouds of haze may be where you did not remove all of the scratches that 105 put into the paint, with 205.
Regarding smearing, the paint may have had some polishing oils on it from the m105. This should be wiped off with a quality microfiber towel.
