  • From Castle Rock, CO - Always feel safe with Meguiars

Hey, just bought a 1992 3000gt VR4. Just brought out the best potential (as far as looks) in this car with the "Soft Buff" kit. This was my first time doing anything like this and I was surprised how easy it was - only taking 2 hours. I used the #105 on the whole top where it was oxidized (I guess); then the #205 on the whole car. The spots I used the #105 or extremely smooth and perfect! Areas where I used only the #205 have no swirls and I can still see the original textured clear coat surface. Just a flawless job; Thanks Meguiar. There is really a much bigger difference then my pictures will ever show.

I was very confused at first what I needed to do and whether I was dealing with oxidation or something worst but the following thread was identical and convinced me to go forward with the soft buff kit.

This was my first time using a rotary buffer (or any buffer for that matter) and i was quite scared, so i took it slow and was very cautious. I have provided links i randomly found off of google. if that is not allowed i will remove them. First, let me describe its old condition. the car sat outside in direct sunlight for

I also tried to use some "forever black" on the accents but wasn't that impressed....

Before and After (notice the old pics with the old bra spot on the hood); there is one pic in the middle that shows a corner on the top of the car with just a few seconds of the #105:

    Welcome to MOL!

The car looks great in your pix, and you can definitely see the huge improvement in that one hood shot. Is this a single stage paint on the 3000 (ie, did your pads turn red while working on it)?

Thanks. No red on the pads at all; I have no idea otherwise.
