  • Would like to see a New Car Car Product in the Stores..........

I am sure some or all of you every year when you get the New Plates or Renewal Sticker for your vehicle, has the same problem that I have, Trying to get the old Sticker off your License plate with out scratching it up, Recently I got the new sticker remewal for my personalized Nevada License Plates, and decided to use Goof Off to remove the sticker, not a good idea, as it bubbled the plastic coating and even took off one of the letters in my personalized plate which reads 1969USA on my 69 Camaro Convertible. previous years tryed using a razor blade and that does not work well either.
I would like to see Meguiar's come up with a product that would remove the year to year sticker, that would not obliberate or scratch the license plate. So far I have not seen any product that will do this, even asked DMV, and they know of nothing either, The Clerk said just to stack it on top of the other ones, how many Car Guys/Gals would do that on their ride.......Come on Barry, take heed to this and have your Engineers come up with some thing....Have any of you thought about this also..................Thanks Max in Las Vegas, NV 68 Camaro Coupe, 69 Camaro Convertible, 97 Mustang Coupe HAPPY HOLIDAY'S EVERYONE. and GOD BLESS

I just stacked them one on top of the other....you can't even tell unless you get close if you place it precisely on top of the previous one. After about ten years, the adhesive had pretty much broken down on the bottom one and the whole stack came off real easy. Started all over again.

I put the sticker on my mom's car for her the other day and being rather cold outside I got my fingernail under the stack and peeled down to reveal 11/06 in one chunk. That was the first sticker so I didn't try to get it off. It's not a problem for me. I don't feel there would be a market for something like that.

Try using an X-Acto blade...No NOT the normal lookin' one we are familiar with, but one that looks like a chisel. As I look at it, the number looks to be-#17.

For me, works better than anything I've found.

Contact your state DOT and order replacement plates. They are not expensive. In WI they are $2 for regular plates or up to $6 a plate for specialty plates). In NV the fee is like $11. Not worth the time messing with it.

I had someone steal the stack off my plate one time, and was told by ICBC it's a good idea to remove the old sticker before putting on the new one, so thieves don't target it. I use a heat gun (hair dryer would work) to soften up the sticker, then peel back as much as I can with a plastic razor blade( I think I got it at a car parts store) Anything glue left over I used methyl hydrate to remove- no damage to the plate

SVT Lighting, I would not even consider stacking them on top of each other, my older brpther used to do that and it was just laziness and he did not show his Vehicles as I do, after 10 years they all came off, unbelievable!!!!!!!!

Hellspawn, I highly disagree with you, any one who cares about the appearance of their Ride, would purchase the product, if it was easily available at the Auto Parts Stores, I would bet the MeGuires Product Taam Members have the same problem every year trying to get the year old sticker off, also as I responded to another comment someone made: DIFFERENT STROKES FOR DIFFERENT FOLKS...............
