  • hi, guys my name is Tristan

    Hello, my name is Tristan

I have been reading this forum lately and have learned a lot, so i thought i would join and ask questions. Anyways i have been cleaning and detailing cars for quite a while but only up until recently i have discovered i have been doing it wrong. everything from washing the car to polishing and waxing. since i think i might have perfected my technique in washing i thought this would be a good place to learn more about polishing a waxing.

    to MOL Tristan!

You came to the right place to learn how to properly detail a car. This article (Meguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle) should help you get started on the proper steps in detailing.

Are you doing the polishing/waxing by hand or by a machine? If you haven't picked up a G110v2 D/A yet, I highly suggest you do. This article (D/A Buffing-101 - An Introduction to the G110v2) will teach how how to properly use it.

      Cool thanks Marc08ex,
Right now i do everything by hand, i have a basic orbital buffer, but am seriously considering getting a D/A buffer.

Once again, thanks for the warm welcome guys. Yeah, infact the link provided by Marc already answered a couple questions i had. I just detailed my friends brand new black Mercedes 2 days ago, and had a real hard time buffing out the wax i had applied, i am pretty sure i applied way to much plus it was super cold out. It took me 11 hrs to get it to look right lol
