  • Yellowish Power inside car.

I have a 2006 Subaru Forester. Came out this morning, after a severe electrical storm, to find the inside of my car covered in a yellowish powder. Thought it was the airbag that accidental discharged. However, no sign of the deployed bag. Also, nothing stolen from the car. I feel it must have something to do with the airbag system but can't figure out what it might be. As soon as the detailed cleanup is complete, I will take it to the dealer for inspection. In the meantime, does anyone have any thoughts?

Isnt air-bag powder usually white? Guess it doesnt have to be any specific color though, whatever is cheapest.

Yeah- usually just a corn-starch product for airbags.

Is it possible that it was pollen? Wrong time of year for some pollens I suppose, but some are dropping now, and my car is always covered with that yellow stuff when it's dropping off the trees.

Yep, I'd say it's pollen. Many people have been finding it on their cars and homes. If you have a convertible it's going to get in there or if you just have the windows or vents open as well.
