  • Howdy from TX

I am about as new to detailing as you can get. I have read and read this forum until I am blue in the face. Everytime I think I know how to get started, I learn something else....product, buffers, pads...Oh My!!
I have quickly learned that there are mulitple ways to accomplish each task(paint correction, washing, cleaning, waxing, etc..), and it just about boils down to 'preference' on how to get them done.

I have Blackberry Pearl colored 2011 Dodge Cahllenger. It is a beautiful color and I hope to preserve it. I also have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that sees some offroad abuse such as scratches from brush.

I just bought a Flex 3401, 3 sets of Meguiars pads(Yellow and Black), and one of every Meguiars product that Walmart sells.

    Wish me luck,
    Charles

Great start Charles, with the Flex. You'll love it. Hopefully the dealer didn't instill too many swirls before you bought your Challenger? As for the Jeep, take it one panel at a time. I imagine the outcome will be startling. It'll likely need Ultimate Compound for the scratch removal.

What's up from Dallas, Tx. Just wash your Challenger once a week, and you will preserve it pretty good. And of wax about 2-3 times a year.

Charles, Welcome to MOL. I am in Missouri City, right next door. I have fallen for the microfiber pad system. Half way through my '96 black 4runner. Next is my 2004 Mini. Then my son's '06 Magnum SRT black. Get started learning to load pictures. That will be handy if you already know.

Welcome Southeast Texas here. Never new how difficult to maintain but beautiful a black vehicle was.

No doubt! I have washed this car more times in the past few weeks than I have my last car in a year!
