    New to MeguiarsOnline and proper car care in general

    Hey guys my name is Brandon and I'm from San Diego, California. I recently purchased a Black Cadillac 2008 CTS that looks great. Before this car I didn't really care if my car's exterior or interior was taken care of. Now that I have a car that is in good condition I want to learn how to take care of it and keep it looking good.

    If anyone has suggestions for a thread or web site I should read that would be good for a completely ignorant person like myself I would greatly appreciate it.

    Well.. certainly a load of info here, esp the 5-step process thread.

    And google search for How to Wash Your Car Showcar Style by Mike Phillips.

    What shape is the car in now?

      Hey Brandon, Welcome to MOL!

      You'll definitely find tons of tips that will help keep your car in good condition here. Take a look at this thread, it helped me a lot when I was starting out. It's on the 5 Step Paint Care Cycle, a great place to begin while taking care of your new car.

          From what I can tell the paint looks good. There are a few tiny scratches in some places but people have mentioned they would buff out. The interior looks brand new.

          I was trying to stay away from Black when searching for a new car but it looked so great I figured I would get it and learn how to take care of it.
