Hey everyone! I am a 24 year old college graduate living in the Upstate of South Carolina. I have a 2007 Honda Civic Si with Nighthawk Black Pearl paint. This is my first black car and I have recently learned that it has the softest paint imaginable. It has swirls and holograms everywhere. I have lurked her every now and then, but decided to join the sites. I attempted to use SwirlX by hand and managed to turn large swirls into millions of tiny swirls. Luckily, I did only do this on a test area. Please get me started. I prefer to hear from those who have had experience with this particular paint. Thanks all.

Re: New black paint and looking for help
I suppose a million tiny swirls is better than a bunch of big swirls, but you are on the right track. It will be much easier, and faster if you use a random orbit polishing machine, although it is possible to do it by hand.
Have fun, and welcome to the site

Either way would be fine.
Not hard to learn with a DA, just a bit of up front cost really for the G110v2, Griots, PC, etc type products, and the pads to go with them.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: New black paint and looking for help
On very delicate paint you can easily create some issues when working by hand, specifically aggressive application of a paint cleaner with a thin applicator. What ends up happening is that your fingers create pressure points and you end up scouring the paint. This often shows up as finger tip wide swirls throughout the paint. Moderate pressure when using a foam wax applicator pad helps to avoid this on very delicate paint, but using a hand pad and our 4" Soft Buff pads makes it a breeze to apply a paint cleaner, even with a lot of passion. We point this out in the article David linked to, but the parts are the S3HP Hand Pad as shown in Premium Professional Finishing System Unigrit Hand Pads and the W8204/W9204 Soft Buff foam pads shown in Premium Professional Finishing System Soft Buff PadsMichael Stoops
