  • First time detailing

First time doing any real detailing work. I bought a black 2006 Cadillac CTS in April. It rained for about a month and a half while I waited patiently to clean it up real nice. I found this forum and loved the info it has. This is what i did

Wash- with Meguiars soft gel wash

Clay- using Meguiars Mirror Glaze professional clay and some quick detailer(used a whole bottle of mirror glaze detailer before i realized i was using way to much, and had to run to autozone for more)

Clean- Mirror Glaze fine cut cleaner

Wax- Meguiars 21(waxing cant get any easier, or better then this)

When I started it was cloudy and overcast, and the sun was behind the tree in the neighbors yard. Shortly after starting my wash the clouds went away and the sun came out from behind the tree. This made the whole process exhausting. Probly part of the reason I used so much detailer in the beginning too. It ended up getting late, and i had to wax half the car, and then remove it in the dark.

In the end, everything worked out, and my black Caddy looks AMAZING. Quite a few deep scratches when i bought it are still there. I have a tube of touch up the dealership gave me, might have to use it next time. Its been a few days, but i will try to post pictures after my next wash

      Welcome to MOL!

Sounds like a nice turnaround on a used car that will probably be better off in your hands than it was with the previous owner!
