I am a mechanic by trade who stumbled into the world of detailing almost by accident. Seventeen years ago, while I was working at a local John Deere dealership, I purchased a Snap-on KRL1001 roll cab to store my tools. Although this box was and is my pride and joy, I never seemed to find time to maintain its appearance. Finally, last year, I crammed all of the tools I could fit into it, and realized it was time to order the matching KRL1201 top chest if I were to keep adding to my tool collection. Now that I am working out of my garage at home, I can spend all night out in the shop and maintain my tool box properly. Being able to do this, and knowing my new box would be a dazzling Snap-on powder coat red, I figured I had better at least wash and wax the roll cab in order to make it presentable, and so it would come closer to matching the finish of the new storage unit. I had recently finished up an old can of carnauba wax from another manufacturer that I was happy with, so I was off to the store to buy another can. They were out of that brand, and being a fan of carnauba paste wax, and by making what is normally a mistake of being drawn in by a slick looking package, I bought the Meguiar's gold class cleaner wax.
I used it on my toolbox, and was quite impressed with the results. Then the day came when my Snap-on dealer called and told me he had “This big red shiny thing on the truck for me.” When he delivered it, both of our jaws dropped. My seventeen year old box that I had waxed with Meguiar's out-shined the brand new box I had just purchased.
That did it for me, I was hooked! I went on-line to research this amazing product line known as “Meguiar’s,” and now have a garage stuffed full of Meguiar’s detailing supplies. I am now addicted to making things clean and shiny! From my tool box, truck, and motorcycle, to every vehicle I can get my hands on.
Now my friends and family can’t wait for their vehicles to break down so they can bring them to me. Not only do I fix them at a discount, but I enjoy using Meguiar’s products so much, and seeing the results I get with them, I detail theirs cars for free just to have an excuse to use Meguiar’s, and blow these people away with the results.
