  • Hi from Milwaukee, WI

    Hi!

Thought I would finally register and introduce myself since I've been reading this forum for the better part of 3 years! lol

I've been detailing my own or my parents cars since I was 14. I am now 30, so I have a good amount of trial and error under my belt! I've always just loved the art of taking a car from looking just ok - to outstanding. Over the years, I have gotten many - many compliments from friends and even detailed some of their cars as a friendly gesture. I'm really starting to toy with the idea of doing this as a small side business. Just seeing what kind of business I can drum up from friends and family. My first two projects are my mothers 2003 Silver Toyota Solara and her 2001 silver Jeep Liberty. I will be taking these on over the next couple of week, I will be sure to post up pictures when I am done.

I am looking for any advice people are willing to share as far as products that work will in a profit watching type of way. I have never looked at detailing this way, so I'm sure I will need to adjust my viewpoints on what I buy and how I use it to come out with any kind of profit in the end!

    Thanks guys and gals!

    Robert

I can only encourage you. I started out the same way 50 years ago and had a nice sideline detailing for years. I loved bringing cars back to life and seeing the owners grin when they see their cars pop. I sense that you do as well. Best of luck and stick with it.
