hello Meguiar's Online! My friend turned me here after he got me into car detailing. Definitely still a newbie and I'm slowly building up my collection of Meguiar's car care supplies lol.
I'm 25 and a recent graduate from Cal Poly Pomona as a Mfg Engineer. I also got promoted to full time salary at my job when I graduated. So as a graduation present to myself, I picked up a '11 Subaru Impreza STI 5-door
. It's my daily driver so I have put VentureShield PPF and mudflaps as a way to protect the notoriously soft Subie paint.
Other than being an engineer, I'm the son of an auto mechanic. As such, we pick up cars that people don't want to spend money to fix. Back in the 1980s when 60s cars weren't worth all that much, my dad picked up a 1966 Mustang coupe (289, 2bbl, 3-spd auto). I drove it for a few years when I lived on campus but now it's awaiting its restoration. I still fire it up once in a while but she mostly sits dormant.
We also have a 2006 Tundra and a 1999 Lexus LS400, which was the first test subject of my paint correction skills. I had my friend supervising me so I wouldn't mess anything up. The results were great. Paint was looked deep and the surface was so smooth to the touch. However, we only did some of it (hood and trunk lid) so I still need to find the time to clay, polish, and wax all of it.
See you guys around!
