  • So.Cal. Gal

My name is Rosie, I live in So. California with my 4 Yorkies that love to ride on my messed up car.

I say messed up car because in my life time I have had 6 different car's but the one I have now has been the longest I have held on to and the worst looking car I have ever driven.

I have a 2004 Black Mitsubishi Endeavor with real bad paint problems loss of clear coat and rusted roof. I did joined AG and one gentleman did suggest to join this group and take a class.... so here I am to learn what can I do or shouldn't do until I have the funds to repaint it.

So I look forward to getting to know you all

Welcome aboard Rosie. This forum is a great source of info on paint care, and a great way to spend some learning time. Failed clearcoat and rust are most likely a job for a paint and body-shop. Pics would be helpful though if you'd like advice from the pros.

              Welcome to MOL!

I would suggest that you attend one of the Saturday classes since you are in SoCal. Mike Stoops does a great job of explaining all this stuff.

The Saturday class is, well, a class. It has a structured format that hits on all the basic topics. It's part presentation and part hands-on application (where everybody works on one car chosen from the crowd).

The Thursday Night Open Garage is free-form. There's no particular schedule or plan (other than the pizza break).

Some people come to get help with a particular issue with their car. Some come to check out some product(s) they've been wanting to try. Some come just to hang out or help other people play with their cars. Whatever, it's all good fun.

Welcome to MOL Rosie. There's definitely a ton of information here that at times it may become overwhelming but it will be fun. As many have mentioned the Saturday classes are great to attend. Enjoy.

                              Hi PC,

I'm so sorry I just now saw your reply....Thanks so much for taking the time to write such detailed reply, you had at on "hands-on application" and by the time I finished reading about Thursday nights I just wanted to but it is Wednesday morning

So I'm going to start with the Sat. class and see if they let come back or don't get beat up for having such an abused looking car (how embarrassing)

But you made my day, and I will try to stay positive and hopeful. Over at AG forum there is one guy that has been very help in answering Q's on products and has told me what to do to correct certain spots but I need to do more research to make notes of LIL details that can make it worst.

On my paint one wrong move and you hit metal or I end up with an unwanted sun roof....I' try to post pictures later today.

                              Thanks again,
                              Rosie
