I am not new to this whole car detailing deal. I have washed my own vehicles in the past but as long as they came out somewhat clean I never really cared. I have a new 2010 inferno orange Camaro that came from the dealer with, you guessed it, swirl marks. I am the second owner of this car and I have done some research as far as how to wash the vehicle safely without adding to the swirl marks. The paint is awesome on this car and it hard to see the swirls unless its in the bright sun light but I want a car that looks good in all light. I know they are there. My wife said i'm obsessed with it. Shes probably right, but none the less they are there. I don't believe they are deep into the paint or that the paint is damaged. Hoping that I can find out what to use to help to restore the paint to its swirl free state and to keep it that way. Thanks, Tim in Columbia, S.C.

Re: Hello all...........
Hi Tim,
Welcome to The Forum.
After you wash your vehicle (and clay if needed) try a cleaner polish, like SwirlX or Ultimate Polish to remove swirls. Do a test spot first on a small area 2'x2' to see if it works well.
Will be using a car polisher or working by hand?

Re: Hello all...........
Hey guys sorry for the delay in answering. I will be doing this by hand. Too afraid to ever use a polisher. I want this car to look its best and for the finish to last. Thanks for the tips. I will probably try the Ultimate polish this weekend after I wash it. Have you guys had good results with this product ?? Tim.........

Mike tried it on his Black BMW and he was very happy.
As for swirl removal by hand - use foam pad applicator and apply pressure while working the product into the paint surface. Divide every panel into small areas as it's easier to do a correction.
DA polishers are absolutely 100% safe. You really can't cause any damage with them.

Re: Hello all...........
Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I really appreciate it. I picked up some ultimate polish today and I am going to go at it this weekend. Didn't know about the foam applicator pad. I was going to use a terry cloth app pad I bought from Meguiars online. I will have to get a foam pad. I am going to follow it up with the some NXT Generation Tech Wax. I will post some before and after pics of the car. Thanks again< Tim.......
