  • Introduction

Hi all. My name is Lawrence and I am from Durban South Africa.

My detailing skills are very limited and the normal washing routine for me includes the following:

    2 bucket wash
    rinse
    dry
clay (only done that once so far but what a difference it makes)
    clean paint
    polish
    wax
    tyre gel
    vacuum etc

I have quite a few deep scratches and swirls and am hoping to be able to correct those myself one day with a machine polisher, once I know what I am doing...

    Re: Introduction

    Greetings!

You've come to the right place. Spend some time in Detailing 101, and Pictures from Thursday/Saturday night detail classes, lots of stuff you can pick up just by looking at some photos and very well written articles.

Additionally there are a few videos available as well, both here and on meguiars.com

The thing about a dual action polisher is that it is extremely simple to use and very forgiving-in fact for a time I thought that machine detailing could only be done by rotary buffer and that I'd never be able to pick up that skill. Not only are DA polishers inexpensive, but once you use it and see the results you'll wonder why you've been holding out
