Hello all,

I'm very new to detailing, so I'd thought I'd join in hopes of gaining insight from the masters! I'm planning on waxing before winter (Michigan winters are rough), but I'm still pretty apprehensive about it. It seems like there are so many things that can go wrong! Looks like I'll be spending lots of time in the Detailing forum

Welcome.
If all you are planning on doing is protecting the paint over the winter, it's a pretty simple process. A good wash, claying (Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit) and a wax (like NXT 2.0) is all you need to do. We tend to over complicate things :-) (even the basics which I just mentioned, will likely get picked apart ;-) )
