Confused about clay bars

New to forums. Have a ' 95 S-10 and a 2001 Grand Marquis. Have had S-10 since new. Have some kind of white stuff on hood. Would that clay bar get rid of it? or do I have to take it to a lab to get analysis before you can answer question? Also the clear coat is coming off camper top any help there?

Could you post a picture of the S-10 hood (and any other areas of concern). Lots of possibilities on the problem, some things can be worked on, one or two - such as clear coat failure - require repainting of the affected area.

Pics would help. It could be rock chips filled in with dried wax. Or some foreign matter splattered all over the hood. A pic would be beneficial.
