  • So here I am

Apparently my actual first post to this forum and to this thread is still waiting in line or lost so here's a stand in....

It appears that most of you guys drive on paved roads?

Anybody here ever have to drive on gravel or dirt/clay?

Does driving on greasy gravel count as a clay job?

Here's some pics of my latest ride, a 2007 Honda Element:

          Welcome to Meguiar's!

I drive on paved, gravel, clay, or what ever needs to be traveled over.

Greasy gravel = clay? Probably not....

Nice looking ride and quite a reflection. I'm not sure if your trying to show a defect but I can't see much in the photos.

Orange peel and trail rash, yup. Just trying to maintain this one as best I can with the least amount of work.

No question, just glad to be here.

              Re: So here I am

If your daily driving is on gravel, or wet "greasy" gravel, I predict a lot of washing in your future. Having gravel dust all over your car is a temptation for someone to write "wash me" on your car and you won't like that.

I'm not sure gravel dust or mud will increase the amount of bonded contaminates requiring more frequent claying, perhaps the more experienced folks can address that issue.

Although I haven't lived on a gravel road for years, I do know you will be washing often. Just follow the recommended five step program and heed the advice of the many wise folks on this forum and you'll be slightly ahead of the game. (If you live in an area of winter freeze/thaw cycles you are really going to learn to hate frost boils!!)

              Good luck.
