  • Need to remove swirl marks

I have a black 2004 Buick LeSabre . I had some scrathes professional removed, had a paint sealer applied, and now have some swirl marks. What product is best for removing swirl marks without damaging clear coat and paint sealer?

I am going to refer you toMeguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle in order to get your finish looking the way you want it.

Once you have that process under control, you want to start with the least aggressive product first and work your way up. Try the clay bar to see if that helps any. See below for some suggestions that you should be able to find in your local WalMart or auto parts store:

    1. SwirlX - This is the least aggressive option. Try this first to see if your finish improves any.

    2. ScratchX 2.0 - If the SwirlX doesn't take care of it, this will give you a little more cutting power to reduce the swirls (some may be deeper than others).

    3. Ultimate Compound - This is the most aggressive option. If the above items didn't work, this should be able to take the swirls out no problem. Don't be afraid to put some elbow grease into it! Remember, it won't necessarily get fixed in one pass - multiple passes may be needed to help you get to where you'd like your car to be.

Try out these items and see where it leaves you. As usual, be sure to take some pictures to document what you did so we can all see and learn!
