  • Initial Introduction

Have had several pretty nice cars, but the one I got the other day requires special attention. It's a 2010 911 Turbo, which I picked up in Maryland and drove back to St Louis. Great way to break the car in, but it's Basalt Black Metallic, so a trip to the neighborhood drugstore on a sunny afternoon could easily precipitate a quick wash. 800 miles at speed killing a lot of bugs along the way is a whole different level of grime. Looking forward to learning from detailing experts on this forum. By the way, my prior two cars were both Silver, so you might say that I'm pretty new to the cleaning game, relatively speaking.

Hello and welcome! I am a huge Porsche fan and hope you enjoy your new 911 Turbo. *drools* Hard top or cabriolet?

People here will exclaim that black is not a color, it's an occupation. :P They say that because it is a relatively harder color to maintain, but don't let that intimidate you. There's plenty of detailing resources here and the members on the forum are ready and willing to help. Start early and with care, you can keep your 911 shiny everyday. I can attest; I drive a black VW Golf - my manual transmission training wheel before I earn myself a Boxster S in Dark Blue Metallic.

        See you on the forum~
