  • Newbie makes first mistake

Curse you Meguiar's! I have a white 1989 Toyota 4X4 that I thought was shinny and smooth. Therein is my dilemma.

A friend of mine gave me a Meguiar's clay bar and I tried a small spot on my hood. OH MY GAWD is it smooth... I found an old bottle of Miguiar's Cleaner Wax tucked away in the garage and applied it where I used the clay bar. Now I'm in deep trouble Now I have one clean spot in an ocean of dark dingy rough feeling white paint.

Well a few hours later after I used the clay bar on the whole truck and used up the rest of the cleaner wax this truck absolutely pops

    All hail Mequiar's

Bye the way I'm 62 and live in Tehachapi, Ca I'm pretty stubborn about my car care products and have kept to the old school ways. That has now come to an abrupt end... gotta go... I have to go get some more Miguiar's products and do the wife's truck.

    Thanks,
    A convert for life

    to MOL

Glad to see you had a good experience with the claybar and cleaner wax!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
    Remove swirls my friends.

      Welcome to MOL, George.

Gee, sorry to make so much work for you, but apparently your truck likes this new discovery of yours! And, after all, that's what really counts, isn't it?
