  • Hello new, please helpp

hello everyone well first off Im 18 years old. I work for a used car lot and have been doing the detailing for them for the last year. The lot has about an average of 50 cars in inventory, and about 3/4 of the cars my dad supplies. The problem is, they do not want to spend the money to refresh supplies when needed and i do not have the products needed to do my best work and they do not want to spend the money to have the cars look their best. They want me to spend a maximum of about 2 hours per car and i cannot do much in that time frame. I discussed the issue with my father and he said that he will loan me some money to get all the necessary equipment for me to professionally detail his cars only, at my house, thus forcing my boss to have her cars done by me. I will have steady car flow probably about 3-4 a week on average witch is fine with me because i am still in school.

My question is what products should i get to have a complete setup? I am looking at ADS and their professional detailer startup package but i am concerned that some of the stuff i will not need and some stuff i do feel i need is not included. Should i just order the items in bulk that i feel that i will need and use more prevalent? The price is close to the 700$ of the starter kit. Also, what are some must haves in detailing business? Thanks for all the help in advanced.

    Hello and welcome to mol.

I would order what you need. If the starter kit has a bunch of items that are of no use to you. Why order them. You can probably get everything you need buying in bulk. You may even save some money just by getting what you need.

    Good luck.
