I'm just wondering if I'm the oldest detailer here. I've been a professional detailer since 1985 and still making cars look their very best at 52 (and don't you agree that black cars the easiest ones to do?)
One tip I'll pass along is to always challenge yourself to do the best detail EVER on every car you work on. This I believe is essential to getting in "The Zone", that state of mind where its almost like tunnel-vision, and makes everything simple and easy (and keeps you from getting grossed-out by really skanky interiors LOL!)
Discovering clay bars around 1990 or so is the greatest thing since Shineola, that marvelous Japanese invention probably has extended my career by a few years. And keeping things simple; prep all the cars first on a busy day (big wash/clay/dry/windows) instead of doing start to finish 1 at a time.
