Great forum. I recently open a detail shop. I have always been into detailing cars,so decided to take it to the next level. So far its went well.purchased the dual action polisher should be here Wednesday. Got a question, should you use a clay bar if wet sanding is a must?

Re: new guy
Welcome, Brad. Best practices would always suggest using a clay bar before you sand. Why you may ask? Let's say you have a piece of tar bonded to the surface that you can't see, but it is there and you start sanding that piece of tar and the clear coat around it. That piece of tar can cause a deep scratch (tracer) and down the road, when it comes time to buff, is could give you more trouble and include more time buffing time. Meguiar's suggests you spend the time up front claying rather than encountering and experiencing more difficult issues on the back end of your project buffing.
I hope this makes sense and I might not be very clear, but I hope this helps.
