Hello guys! I've been reading some of the forms on advice on how to wax. But still i'm not sure on how to wax and what products to use. I bought my 1st car last year and i'm pretty sure its time for a wax. Any advice on what products would be good? I've read a lot of forms that mention "claying the car", would anyone please tell me more specifically this is? If it helps my car is a 01 Jetta VW

    Thanks!!

You are probably going to want to do something like:

    1. Wash - Gold Class soap, 2 buckets, decent towels, sponges, etc.
    2. Clay - Smooth Surface Clay kit, maybe buy an extra QD bottle
    3. Clean - SwirlX
    4. Wax - Nxt 2.0
    5. Wax - Nxt 2.0

I think there is a how to clay video somewhere, I am sure someone can post the link to. Claying is pretty easy.

Thats exactly the process I plan on going through when the weather warms up except I use the Gold Class wax instead. Just remember to also have Ultimate Compound in case you find that the swirls are deeper than expected or if the paint is especially hard.

would scratch 2.0 be better for deep scratechs because a couple of months ago i bought swirl X and it doesn't remove some of the heavier and lighter scratches, maybe cause i need to wax it my car real soon!

          thanks!

You may need a stronger product, or you may need to refine your technique, or both.

Cant just wipe the product on/off, you will need to work it in with some passion, not working too large of an area.

If you are doing that with the milder product, then it may be time for a stronger product.
