some silver is hard to get that finish. sure it will look shiny but you wont be able to see yourself like you would a black car or similar.

            hi glen welcome to mol!

To get that eye pop!! you want start off doing a test spot to see what's going to work for you or what looks good in your eye's! tape off a section and do you test on a area no more then about 20''X20''.1st with claying-then to that most important step to polishing your paint, the cleaning! Don't jump in with a aggressive cleaner that may not be needed. Start with something that won't be to harsh on your paints surface and apply a coat or two, if not satisfied go to the next step up in aggressiveness and repeat with a coat or two. When and if satisfied you could apply a coat of polish (I like using #7 show car glaze) Then if satisfied with your polishing go to your lsp (#26/#16 for me and sometimes mixing it up a little with layering #21 with nxt 2.0 or gold glass with #16 really just a never ending preference or wanting to have fun and see what you can combine and the outcome) but you need to apply two thin layers of what ever wax or sealant you have or can get at the time of your polishing job. Just remember that to layers of a wax or sealant is not better protection but it gives a good coverage and the most important thing is that it will and does look better to your eye's!

Hope I've helped and let us no your steps and show us your before and after's LATER

Re: Making my car look like a Mirror

              Hi,

From my experience in high end car restoration, silver is a tough color! To make it pop, I VERY carefully wet sand the vehicle with 1000 grit and then 2000 grit completely... Then use your compound (by machine) to bring back luster and then polish and wax(by machine or hand). Silver on most Dodge, Jeep, etc. is unfortunatley "orange peeled" pretty bad from the factory. To bring out the "WOW" factor it must be wet sanded, then gone through the process... Trust me, it will be a world of difference afterwards!
              GOOD LUCK!

P.S. Dont go crazy sanding as a little goes a LONG way! Use plenty of clean water and be very cautious of edges!!!!

Just to add, if you have never wetsanded I would recommend that you NOT try it on your vehicle. Go to a junkyard and start practicing on a junk hood. Plus if you are using a PC and not a rotary you will most likely not be able to remove the wetsanding marks.

                Just looking out.

Wet sanding yeah that a little to much for me at the level I'm at like I mention I'm bearly just bought my first PC, my biggest concern is if I should considere using M105 and M205 the products i have from least aggressive to aggressive is nxt2.0 M7,colorx, swirlx, Ultimate Compound. and of course i've doing everything by hand just i hear such amazing things about M105 and M205

SwirlX will be similar to #205, and UC will be similar to #105. If you have just bought the PC, and have those products, I would try with what you have first. Can always get fancy later....

Yeah, #7 takes a little technique...

You'll want to apply it thin, probably thinner than you applied it last time. Then kind of wipe over the panel to remove some, then kind of let it sit for another moment, then wipe off more.
