Since I've been here everyday reading for a month I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a 42 year old soccer/basketball/girl scout/boy scout mom in Middle Tennessee.
In November I got rid of the mini van and got my first new car in 20 years. Not anything fancy, but I love it, a 2009 Kia Rio. I couldn't help but notice how shiney it was, so I did googled "how to keep your new car looking new", it lead me to Meguiar's, I read the forums here, bought the products, and I couldn't be happier!
Well, sort of happier. Before this site, I never paid any attention to car finishes. But now I see swirls on every car in parking lots, and it's driving me crazy. And my husband crazy because he has to listen to me point it out. But I also notice the beautiful gloss on cars that are taken care of, and that's what I'm trying to keep mine looking like.
After reading the forums, I bravely clayed my brand new car after feeling how lumpy it was. Little bits at first because I had this vision of ruining it, but it came out more beautiful then before. I followed the directions on the gold class wash, clay, wax and my car is stunning! I even clayed the hood on my husbands 2000 Toyota and it is much brighter then before (though full of swirls!).
I'm also parking away from other cars in parking lots. And teaching my kids (5 and 9) to be careful to not hit other car doors, and be respectful of other cars.
I love the before and after picture threads.
Ok , so that's all!
I feel like I'm intruding on the "boys club" but there must be other moms here somewhere!
