Hi. I'm new to this forum. Just wanted to share my thoughts. I was using a spray detailer from Simply Z-Best Car Wax (Calif) which I loved, until it ran out, and can't buy it locally in NJ. When washing my car, after the first drying pass with the chamois, I use this on the 2nd pass because it really makes the paint dry off without water marks. It seems to make the chamois absorb better. Unfortunately, shipping costs from Calif to NJ make this product too expensive. I just tried Meguire's Ultimate Quik Detailer. I like it. In fact, it performs just as well as the product from Simply Z-Best. It does a great job. The only 2 differences are as follows: First, it does not have that great "bubble gum" scent that Simply Z-Best has. (Really, I'm serious. They actually advertise this !). That's really not that important though. Secondly, the Meguires product has a fixed position spray nozzle, which does a lot of atomizing. The detailer from Simply Z-Best has an adjustable nozzle which is better, as it enables you to focus where you want the spray to land (like NOT on the glass, tires, etc). I did find that if I squeezed the trigger very slowly on the Meguires, it would come out more gently, but this took a lot of effort and control. So there you have it. My first post. Steve

Re: My experience with Ultimate Quik Detailer
Welcome to MOL Steve..
Still using a chamois for drying? I prefer using a Water Magnet for drying, and then top it off using the Ultimate Quik Detailer with a Supreme Shine microfibre.. and then if im not in a hurry, I would then add a layer of Ultimate Quik Wax..Ganesa,

You should check into using a water magnet to dry your vehicle.

I'll definitely look into the water magnet. I'm not familiar with it. Sounds interesting. I presently use microfibre cloths to remove wax. As far as wax itself is concerned, nothing can protect and last as long as Collinite 845 Insulator Wax. I've done empirical tests which prove it. Steve

Re: My experience with Ultimate Quik Detailer
I'm going to slightly disagree with the majority here and tell you to keep your chamois handy for drying. Why? Waffle Weave towels (or water magnets) are pretty thick towels that soak up a lof of water...but it's nearly impossible to wring them out. Once they are soaked, they are soaked.
Chamois on the other hand dry very well and can squeezed to remove excess water and re-use. I'd suggest using a chamois for the initial drying and then maybe a waffle weave (or water magnet) for the remainder.
I've been using this method and it works well....but don't toss that chamois just yet.

Re: My experience with Ultimate Quik Detailer
im just too afraid sometimes using the chamois, and maybe still have a single dirt particle that will harm the paint.. I have two Water Magnet Microfibe Drying Towels, but only use 1 for a small sedan car... so after using the Water Magnet, I spray Ultimate Quik Detailer on the car and wipe it with a Supreme Shine Microfibre so that the excess water that was not picked up by the water magnet, is picked up by the SS Microfibre. and leaves a nice gloss finish after UQD.Ganesa,

Re: My experience with Ultimate Quik Detailer
OK, I'm gonna jump back in here. Here's why I do like the chamois. With any sort of towel, when one molecule of dirt getss in it, it stays in it and you definitely can scratch your paint. I've used a chamois successfully for 30 years and never got a scratch. Not even in the winter ! How you ask ? Simple. While using a chamois to dry your car, keep a separate bucket nearby full of warm water. After you wipe a panel, gently submerge the chamois in the bucket and gently squeeze the chamois...VERY gently. Then lift it out and wring it out the normal way. Now you can continue to dry the car. Do this in between every panel. Any tiny molecule of dirt gets dropped off in the bucket of warm water. I do this religiously especially in the winter time. My cars have always been 100% scratch free. Steve
