  • Hello from NZ

So here I was in peaceful New Zealand, blissfully unaware that a car could be anything but shiny and in need of a wash and occasional wax - sorry all you experts.
And then I bought a BLACK car!
Now my life is a blur of water spots, swirls, scratches, cleaner/polishes, polish/waxes, microfibre this and that, hydrophobic polymer technology ... (the list goes on) and is consumed by a desire to sort it all out. What a fascinating world has passed me by for 49 years.
My almost new metallic black Suzuki has awoken the need and interest to do more than I have ever even thought of in the past. It is only a few months old but has what I now recognise as swirl marks pretty much all over. In my ignorance about taking care of paintwork I'm not sure if I introduced them or if I simply didn't notice that it came with them from the dealer. Either way I have resolved to do something about it myself and am quite enjoying getting to grips with things.
Over recent weeks I've spent a good while reviewing a variety of advice posted on the forums and have now got myself some better equipment (Meguiars) and am working on my techniques.
Thank you to all who have contributed to what I have read. I for one really appreciate that you people take the time to share your knowledge.
    Andrew

            Re: Hello from NZ

We have a reasonable range of products, certainly for what I need at the moment. It does seem relatively expensive compared to what I've seen on the online store though - not a complaint, just an observation. A downside of being in NZ I suppose.

              Welcomne to MOL!

I'm from NZ and reasonably new here as well, I have already learnt heaps and had plenty of great advice.

Products are quite a bit more expensive here, but virtually the entire range is available if you go to the right place. Any supercheap auto stocks the most common stuff and may be able to order in anything else you would like (they have done for me for other stuff).

Here is a brilliant online store for megs (and others), I have dealt with them a couple times now and they have been good, http://www.smitsgroup.co.nz/default.aspx
