  • Hi there!!

New member here. I chose my user name due to the fact that my wife says that I'm in the garage so much that I'm like a troll that lives there.

So anywho, here's a bit about me.

My name is Andy, I'm 26 and I drive an 2004 Electric Blue Saturn Vue. I love the color but the previous owner didn't really take that great care of the paint. Lots of fine scratches and swirl marks etc.

I washed, clayed, swirlx'd, polished, and waxed it last month but from what I'm hearing the Ultimate Compound may even take out more of the scratches so I plan to wash, compound, swirlx, polish, and wax it this weekend. I'm thinking I can skip the claying since I just did that. The only questions I have are:

    1. Can I use my Porter Cable 7424 random orbital with the UC?

    2. Will these products remove the touch up paint I applied to the vehicle last week, because that would stink to do it all over again.

I have been reading about wet-sanding touch up process and I would like to try it but I need to work up the courage.

Well, thanks for listening and I hope to be around as often as I can on this great site!

    Hello Troll!

    to MOL!

Please post your detailing questions to Detailing 101. This forum category (Introduce Yourself) is for introducing yourself (obviously ), and the moderators like to keep it for that purpose, otherwise it becomes another forum category. Make sense? Thanks!

I am afraid I have missed that one. But this coming weekend is All Chryslers at Carlisle Pa. And the Meguiars rig will be there.
