  • New from SoCal

    Hey Guys/Gals,

I'm new here to the forums, and just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Gary and I've just recently started to learn about detailing. For the last 2 years my car has been losing it's shine. So I thought why not, might as well give it a shot.

So far I've got the Porter Cable 7424 on the way as well as an assortment of Lake Country buffing/cutting/polishing pads, Cobra Microfiber towels, wcdetail.com bulk microfiber towels, the grit guard, and most of the other little things needed for detailing.

I look forward to learning from everyone on here!

    Welcome to MOL

You should come to a Thursday Night Open Garage or Detailing 101 Class since you are local!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
    Remove swirls my friends.

      Thanks!

As much as I'd love to, I have work on Thursday nights until 3am. Do the clinics ever happen on a Friday or Saturday? (my days off)

There are Saturday Detailing 101 classes that are fantastic.

Scroll down the main page to the Detailing Classes, and see if there is one you can sign up for.

              Re: New from SoCal

I was wondering if there were any suggestions on what I should buy as far as polishes/waxes/and so on?

So far I have these on the way:
              Meguiars #7 Mirror Glaze
              Meguiars Carnuba Wax
              Meguiars NXT Tech Wax
              Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailer
              Meguiars Plast X
              Meguiars Cleaner Wax

Would I still need Scratch X 2.0 and or Swirl X or Color RX? They all seem exactly the same to me and I can't figure out what the real difference is.

              Thanks
