  • Hi from Sth Australia! Dist. Question on availability.

    Hi Guys,

I've read almost all of the site over the last couple months and decided it's time to say hello and thanks!

I have an MY04 Forester XT and love it. I've owned it for about 6 months. The paint is in very good condition over all. From a few feet away it looks perfect. Up very close in the sun or fluros it is covered with swirls and scratches, as expected of a "normal" 5 year old car I guess, but I want to make and keep it as good as possible.

There a few minor parking dings and stone chips that I will get fixed probably by one of those guys with a mobile van.

I have used 3M clay bar on it, made a massive difference!

I wash with Megs NXT and wax with NXT tech wax. I use 2 buckets, a lambwool mitt and microfibre clothes.

I used some Turtle polish but it didn't do much, very subtle improvement of swirls/scratches.

I have used ScratchX (V1.0) on bigger scratches and it's great but doing the whole car would take for ever.

I have ordered some Ultimate Compound for the bigger scratches, looking forward to that.

I also want some #80 to do the whole car with but can't find it anywhere in Australia, or anywhere on the net that will ship.

I use Megs yellow applicators annd micro fibre cloths for waxing, but polishing by hand is going to take forever.

Clearly I need a G220! Trouble is, like the #80, I can't find one anywhere!

Does anyone have a source for a G220 and some #80 at a sane price? Happy to pay international postage of course.

    Thanks,

    Steve.

      Steve

I got my G220 and pads from these guys, I think they have or can get the #80 as well. Interestingly they have nothing about Meguiars on their website but are listed on the Aus Megs site as a distributor.

        Firstly to Meguiars Online!
I can vouch for Rare Spares, I've used them and they carry alot of products not listed on Meguiars Australia site. #80 and the G220 are available from them. If you don't feel like going in there you can also order online from Zen Car Care Supplies both stores carry the consumer, Mirror Glaze and Detailer range.

Thanks guys, sorry I didn't reply sooner, didn't get notification of replies, I must have had it off by default.

I'll go see rare spares, not far from me.

          Thanks again,

          Steve.

Just an update for you guys, I've just notice that UQW and Soft buff V2.0 pads are now available here in Australia
Not sure if Rare Spares have the above products but Zen Auto Supplies definitely has, I've not seen these on shop shelves yet.... spend spend spend!!!

                  Hi all Adelaidian's

Rare Spares does not have V2.0 pads (as of 2-weeks ago) I rang them, I bought some Lake Country Mfg CCS pads (orange, white and black 6-inch ones) I was under the impression that V2.0 pads are actually re-branded LC pads (think some auto-parts store clerk told me) [not entirely reliable]

                  Alex

ps Rare Spares has heaps more stuff out the back so if you don't see it on the shelf just ask !

(NB: I do not work for Rare Spares or have any financial links, I'm just an enthusiast whom they helped out heaps)
