  • Red Camaro From Ohio

    Hey there everyone

I've been a long time reader of the forum but a first time poster.

    A Little about me
Started out painting cars in Auto Collision Class at vocational school, finished up that, worked a body shop for a while and then headed off to Wyo Tech in P.A.
Finished up school and headed to a different body shop as the lead painter. Painted here and there and a little bit of everywhere. I gained a lot of experience behind the paintgun and rotary buffer.
I'm hoping I can help with more of painting/clearcoat questions in the forum

So got tired of production style of painting and left the shop and took over a computer shop / internet service shop that my father started. Been there ever since. Crazy going from a painter to a computer geek, But the one true passion I have is to have defect free, perfect (or close to it) paint finishes.

I was involed in a motorcycle / deer accident in October. Ended up dislocating my left hip, breaking my right femur, breaking my left collar bone, and breaking my back in 9 places including two compression fractures... A lot of fun that was... So the 2 weeks in Grant medical trauma center and operating room and 5 months I was in a wheel chair and full back brace , i turned to the MOL crew to keep me sane

So as soon as I could, I picked up a G110 to add to the collection with 105/205, new solo and softbuff 2.0 pads. Made a nice addition to my collection ... I was a straight rotary user until grabbing the g110 and 205 on the finishing pad... ohh yeah.. thats nice Anyone that will say the DA polishers are a waste of time, probably do not strive for the perfect finish like MOL users

Thanks again to everyone keeping my spirits high during my recovery!!!

Enough about me... Lets look at the car

    99 SS Camaro
I bough this car when I first started painting in a body shop. I'm in to go fast stuff so it didn't stay stock for very long. The list of mod's are long so I'll just sum it up.
    - Ported Texas Speed Heads with matching custom grind Cam w/ Fast intake and 90mm Throttle Body
    - True duals from Texas speed coming off of Hooker Super Comps
    - Rossler built 4l60e Tranny with 4,000 Stall Triple disk Percision Converter
    - Moser 12 Bolt with 3.73
    - BMR adjustable Torque arm with other suspension mods
    - 150 shot of nitrous

The car put down 578 wheel horse power and 611 ft/lbs of torque on the dyno.

Fastest pass with the car, on the 17" wheels just like in the pictures, was 10.82 at national trail raceway...I was asked to leave by tech (no roll cage) hehe

Last but not least, my two favorite products

Thank you!!! If anyone talks to Nick Chapman, tell him I can relate to his pain. After nine broken places in my back, I was in a full back brace from my waist to my neck for almost 5 months!!! Body still not 100 % but I"m doing great!!! Thanks guys!! Your comments are greatly appreciated!!

I wished everyone lived closer to me, we could take turns doing some nitrous holeshots in that camaro

I can be in Ohio in about 7 hours anytime you're willing to take a pass down the strip

Seriously though, how did you manage to detail when you were in a full back brace?

Just kidding! Very sharp looking car (minus the front plate, the way it should be) and welcome to MOL; look forward to having your input!
